Point Gallery is teaming up with Totally Totally Collective to host a grand opening party at 765 Santa Fe Drive, Denver, CO, on Thursday, June 26th, from 6pm-12 am.
The gallery will feature works by local emerging artist Ron Gerbrandt as well as selected works from international artist Gary A. Bibb's constructions series. The gestural nature of Gerbrandt's oil paintings conveys a mastery of both light and form. His sculptural approach to his subject matter moves beyond portraiture to emotional states of being. Bibb's constructions series focuses on his found object compilations. As he moves away from the canvas, he begins to challenge viewers' perspective or, as he so eloquently puts it, "to evoke an awaking." The pieces in this series offer wonderful insights into his artistic sensibilities.
Totally Totally Collective, a group of young and enthusiastic artists led by Xavian Lahey, Alex Page and Riley Doyle, will be at the gallery to host a pop-up exhibit entitled Non-Archival. The title refers to the concept of the pop-up exhibition and its relevance to the contemporary art scene. It explores creating art for the moment versus art for prosperity.
Other gallery artists whose work will be on display include Joe Friend, Jennifer Davey, and David Menard. Musical performances by Homebody and Tjutjuna will take place on the mezzanine.
